Four dead after three-storey building collapses at Kasoa New Market
A heart-wrenching incident has shaken the Kasoa New Market in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region, leaving a trail of grief and devastation. A storey building under construction collapsed, claiming the lives of four individuals, including a carpenter and three others who were trapped beneath the rubble.
Eyewitness Nana Akwesi recounted the horrific moment: “The workers were on the second floor when the disaster struck. Sadly, the carpenter died on the spot, while the other three succumbed to their injuries during transportation to the hospital.”
The Assemblyman for the Kpomotey area, Mustapha Mohammed, expressed his profound shock and sorrow: “I’m still grappling with the news. This is a tragic loss of life, and my heart goes out to the families of the deceased.”
The community is reeling in shock, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the collapse.
