Passenger plane carrying 62 crashes outside São Paulo, Brazil; all on board killed
A devastating plane crash has occurred in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, resulting in the loss of all 62 lives on board. The twin-engine turboprop plane, operated by Voepass airline, was en route from Cascavel in Paraná to São Paulo city’s main airport when it tragically crashed in the town of Vinhedo.
Distressing footage circulating on social media shows the plane descending vertically and spiraling as it fell.

The plane was carrying 58 passengers and 4 crew members. Local authorities have confirmed that there were no survivors.
The plane landed on a residential building, causing a massive fire and smoking wreckage in a densely populated area. Emergency services are at the scene, and local hospitals have been alerted.
According to Flightradar24, a tracking website, the plane was built in 2010 and took off from Cascavel at 11:56 local time (14:56 GMT). The last signal received from the aircraft was about an hour and a half later.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva observed a minute’s silence at an event he was attending and expressed his condolences on social media, saying: “Very sad. All my solidarity to the families and friends of the victims.”
