Three Killed, Several Injured in Tragic Road Accident on Bekwai-New Edubiase Road
Three people have lost their lives and several others have been injured in a fatal road accident on the Bekwai–New Edubiase highway at Kyiraburoso, near Adansi Asokwa, on Wednesday night, August 13, 2025.
The crash involved an O.A. Transport minibus with 14 passengers on board and a faulty Kia truck that was reportedly being towed by a tanker en route to Assin Fosu. According to eyewitness accounts, the minibus, travelling from Accra toward Obuasi, rammed into the truck, which was obstructing its lane.
The impact killed three passengers instantly, while the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.
Fomena District Police Commander, DSP Samson Wunyi Mumuni, confirmed that a police team responded to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. He added that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash, including why the truck was left in the active lane. The identities of the deceased have not yet been disclosed.
