Alleged ‘Fraud Boy’ and Girlfriend Burnt Beyond Recognition in Kasoa
Tragedy struck in Kasoa Adom Estate, Awutu Senya East Municipality, Central Region, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, when 22-year-old Kwabena Osei and 19-year-old Princess Anarley Ahiatey were brutally burnt beyond recognition.
CCTV footage captured three young men committing the heinous crime. Reports suggest Kwabena Osei, allegedly a ‘fraud boy’ (scammer), received GHS 190,000.00 (1.9 Billion Old Ghana Cedis) from a “client” but failed to share the proceeds with some of his accomplices, with whom he had collaborated on the fraudulent deal, leading to a violent confrontation that killed him and Princess.
Further investigations reveal that Kwabena habitually used Princess as a liaison for nighttime client interactions. On the night of their demise, Kwabena invited Princess to his residence for their customary collaboration, which she honored despite her mother’s admonitions. Mama Felicia, grief-stricken, said, “I tried to stop my daughter from going to see Kwabena Osei, but she never listened.” Kwabena’s mother, Sister Esi, expressed similar shock, stating she had no knowledge of her son’s girlfriend until their passing.
The Awutu Senya East Municipal NADMO Director, Kwame Amoah, has urged the Ghana Police Service to work diligently in arresting the suspects caught on CCTV.
