Ken Ofori-Atta Undergoes 4-Hour Cancer Surgery Amid Legal Storm — Family Breaks Silence in Emotional Statement
Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has successfully undergone surgery to treat prostate cancer, according to a statement released by his family on Monday.
The statement, signed by his wife Prof. Mrs. Angela Ofori-Atta, disclosed that Mr. Ofori-Atta underwent a robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, on Friday, June 13. The complex procedure lasted over four hours.

Doctors at the facility expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the surgery and have placed the former minister on a postoperative care regime to support his recovery.
“Ken has always been resilient. But this has been very difficult, with the OSP choosing the period just before his surgery to declare a red alert on him,” Prof. Ofori-Atta noted, referring to the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s recent move against her husband.
Despite the legal and medical challenges, the family reports that Mr. Ofori-Atta is in good spirits and committed to regaining full health.
“Our family is truly grateful for the support and prayers of many people and pastors,” the statement concluded.
