Two Young Women Perish in East Legon Crash
A deafening roar ripped through the morning calm as an Acura and a Jaguar collided head-on at the busy intersection in East Legon, Accra, on Saturday afternoon. The impact sent one of the vehicles careening into a wooden electric pole, sparking a fiery blaze that engulfed both vehicles. The inferno raged, sending plumes of black smoke into the air as firefighters desperately battled to reach the trapped victims.

Two young women were tragically killed in the horrific crash. Their lives were cut short in the fiery wreckage. Three additional individuals, including the drivers of both vehicles, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a local hospital for critical care.
Assistant Division Officer Alex King Nartey, speaking to Adom FM, confirmed the incident and revealed that initial investigations pointed to speeding as a major contributing factor. Sadly, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second remained trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters worked tirelessly to extricate her body.
Further details emerged about the identity of one of the drivers involved. Bishop Salifu Amoako’s 16-year-old son, reportedly using his mother’s car for an errand, was believed to have been behind the wheel of the Jaguar. This tragic incident left the community reeling, with many mourning the loss of young lives and calling for stricter road safety measures.
